Thursday, May 10 through Sunday, May 13 - Wash 4 Schools with Folsom Glenn Car Wash

Folsom Glenn Car Wash is stepping forward to help our community schools in a time of budget cut backs.  Folsom Glenn Car Wash & Auto Lube will be donating a portion of each car wash and detail package sold back to the schools.  They will donate $2 for wash packages and $5 for detail packages to the school of the patron's choice.
Where: Folsom Glenn Car Wash, 414 Glenn Drive, Folsom
When: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Who: Anyone with a car, boat, trailer, motorcycle...
How: Simply come get your car washed any time May 10th-13th and let the cashier know which school you want your donation to go to.

Thursday, May 10 - Preschool Morning Play at All Star Gymnastics and Cheer

All Star Gymnastics and Cheer offers preschool play dates for you and your child.  This is a great time for you and your child to get some extra energy out and socialize with other kids, mom's groups, and families!  Preschool Morning Play is every Tuesday from 9:30am to 11am and every Thursday from 11:30am to 1pm

The beautiful scenery, the great trails, and the family-friendly format make this a favorite tradition for families in our community!  Don't miss the fun this year!

Saturday, May 12 through Sunday, May 13 - All Aboard! Excursion Train Rides in Old Sacramento

For the 29th year, the California State Railroad Museum host's the popular excursion railroad - the Sacramento Southern Railroad.  Hop on board a closed coach car, open-air gondola, or a first-class observation car pulled by vintage diesel locomotives!  The trains run every Saturday and Sunday from March 31 to September 30th.
Where: Central Pacific Railroad Freight Depot in Old Sacramento
When: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Every Hour on the Hour)
Who: Everyone!
How: To ride coach, just show up and purchase tickets or you can purchase first class tickets online
Cost: Kids 5 and under ride free!  Coach: $10 adult, $5 youth (6-17), First class: $15 per person

Saturday, May 12 - Mom Prom in EDH

The EDH Community Services District is throwing a Mom Prom "Mustache Bash with Mommy's Little Man" this May in celebation of Mother's Day!  Bring your son for a night of dancing, interactive games, and fun group dances.  There will be a photo both to catch that special shot of you and your little guy.  Space is limited - so sign up early!

Fairytale Town transforms to a fairytale farm town for this special event.  Come take part in this celebration of all-thing agricultural.  There will be live sheep shearing, wool spinning, a mini-farmer's market, hands-on art activities and more.

Celebrate some of the amazingly diverse cultures of our world at the Rancho Cordova international festival - iFest 2012!  Experience the sounds, dance, and taste offered around the world!  There will be traditional Filipino music and dance, Middle Eastern, Indian Fusion, Mexican, Scottish, Obsidian Butterfly Fire dance, and more!  Radio Disney will be there too!

Family Hand Print Collage

I LOVE handprints… maybe that is why I have so many on my walls that haven’t been washed off yet!! LOL!  There is nothing like holding those sweet little hands in mine.  This Family Hand Print is the perfect Mother’s Day project because it shows the entire family layered in construction paper hands… what could be better? I’ll tell ya… you probably have all of the supplies in your house already so if you’re a last minute gift giver, this is for you!

"Mother's Day" Quiche

Alright, so there's nothing super special about this that makes it a Mother's Day Quiche. But, you could use mom's favorite veggies and this is so easy the kids can get in on it!

  • 8 eggs
  • Pie Crust
  • Spinach, cleaned and chopped (or whatever veggies you like... I have an infatuation with Spinach so it's in a lot of our recipes here)
