Broadway At Music Circus, Mamma Mia Raving Review

By Marisela Morales, Macaroni Kid Folsom - El Dorado Hills publisher August 14, 2018

Last week Broadway At Music Circus at the Wells Fargo Pavilion gave a group of influencers the opportunity to preview their amazing production of Mamma Mia! I was fortunate enough to be in the group organized by Julie Gallaher, the owner of Get On The Map and leader of the InstaYelpaTweetaSnap group.

The stage was so impressive, the singing was phenomenal, and the overall production was just excellent. This mama appreciated the first class entertainment in a theater where every seat is a great seat. I experienced lots of laughs and even a few heart flutters

Broadway at Music Circus is a summer series of musical productions performed by professional actors on a theatre-in-the-round setting.  The circular stage brings the audience so close to the performance it immerses every individual in the story.  It was my first time there and I was skeptical of what could be accomplished on the “small” stage. That stage rose, sunk, spun, split up into pieces. . . it was soooo impressive and an integral part of the Mamma Mia performance. The props were perfect with many coming down from the ceiling. The use of the set alone is a great reason to check out a Broadway at Music Circus musical performance.

The Mamma Mia performance was full of witty humor, amazing singing, and excellently choreographed dancing.  One could easily follow the plot from start to finish without being familiar with the story.  Most importantly, the spectator was drawn into the performance and could FEEL excitement, suspense, disappointment, and all the other feels this story brings on.  It was especially neat to see Sacramento native, Francesca Arostegui take the lead role of Sophie Sheridan.

Although the Mamma Mia performance is over, you can still catch the Little Shop of Horrors performance happening August 21-26, 2018.  If you are under 35 years old, you can score tickets for $35 through the $35 under 35 club.

In the fall, specifically October, the Broadway On Tour series will start and run through the start of June. There are numerous ways to get involved with Broadway Sacramento.  You can offer financial support, volunteer, audition, or sign up your kids for classes there.  They offer a summer camp which ends in a small production.  If your kiddos are into more serious acting, they can join the Broadway At Music Circus Junior Company.  Learn more about Broadway Sacramento HERE.
