Community HUBS at Your Local Library

By Stephanie Silva January 27, 2023

Let's be real, adulting isn't always easy. Throw a spouse, career, bills, laundry piles and a kid or 4 in the mix, and it can feel very nearly impossible. In our modern 2023 lives and mindset, we are sometimes guilty of being too busy or too independent to know when, where or how to ask for help. If any of this resonates with you, I have a secret to share, and if you live in or near El Dorado County, there are 5 locations that are designed to help take some of the burden away.

Set up conveniently in our local libraries are Community HUBS. Their vision is to create healthy and strong communities across El Dorado County and their mission is to connect children, families, and individuals to supports and services. HUB services are free and offer a wide range of options to all ages and walks of life. Whether you are newly pregnant and need help finding healthcare, a new mom in need of free diapers, wipes or formula, a family who needs help with groceries, an older adult in need of medicare or health insurance advice, help with utility bills, or screenings and assessments for you child(ren), the HUBS team is your one stop shop.

The library has always been a favorite spot for my family, and now with all the added perks that HUBS brings, I can't help but be so passionate about involving more families in all the help and resources the library offers for everyone. While you are there getting whichever HUBS service resonates with you, don't forget to check out the library calendar of events for storytimes, engaging play and learn groups, arts and crafts adventures, book clubs, and you may even make a new friend or two!
