Rock Folsom With Kindness

In partnership with the City of Folsom

By Marisela Morales, Macaroni Kid Folsom-El Dorado Hills Publisher July 30, 2018

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, more than fifty Macaroni Kid Publishers across the country are hosting events that give back to their communities.  This day is known nationwide as the Macaroni Kid Act Of Kindness Day.  Macaroni Kid Folsom - El Dorado Hills is participating this year by hosting a kindness rock painting project together with 2Fit Stronger Together.  This project is in partnership with the City of Folsom for Folsom Community Service Day.

Because our #MKAOKDAY coincides with Folsom Community Service Day this year, it only made sense to partner with the City of Folsom.  We chose to paint kindness rocks because it is a beautiful and simple way of spreading joy and words of kindness, encouragement, and inspiration in our community.  Members of Rocks of Folsom will be joining us to help facilitate the event and community participants are encouraged to label their rocks with the hashtag #rof to link rocks back to the Folsom community.

Macaroni Kid Act of Kindness Day is an annual nationwide celebration which occurs on the third Saturday in September. Over the past years, Macaroni Kid Publishers raised $50,000 for local charities, donated more than 35,000 diapers to families in needs, encouraged hundreds of kids to sign anti-bullying pledges, cleaned dozens of parks and trails and delivered more than 3,000 handwritten cards to first responders.

“Our local publishers honor their local communities and the entire Macaroni Kid family by using their reach to enrich our more than 550 communities and by showing Acts of Kindness in so many ways,” says Chief Macaroni Mom Joyce Shulman.
