Sierra Moms in the Community
Sierra Moms is dedicated to giving back to the community, whether through participating in philanthropic events and charities, donating goods to other non-profits, volunteering, or hosting our own events in the community.
As we near the end of our 2018-19 term, we feel proud of our continued efforts in the community throughout the last year. We’ve brightened the lives of seniors through our Sierra Grandparents program, with monthly visits to Brookdale in Folsom. When the Paradise and Carr fires devastated nearby areas, we collected clothes and goods for families displaced by the fires. In January of this year, we were proud to hold our 13th annual Children’s Activity and Preschool Expo (CAPE) at the Folsom Sports Complex. This free event provides hundreds of local families the opportunity to explore over 60 local preschools and child-centered activities all under one roof.
At our quarterly parties and Schmooze & Swaps, we collected money and goods for local non-profits. The non-profits we have donated to over the past year include Acres of Hope, Folsom’s Hope, Sacramento County’s Department of Health and Human Services Gifts from the Heart Program, Sacramento Food Bank, and we plan to do a donation drive for Weave at our upcoming Spring Quarterly Party.
