EXPLORE THE WILD Camp
Greater Sacramento Area
June 20- 24 (Ages 6-10)
June 27- July 1 (Ages 6-10)
The two camps will not be a repeat of content, so feel free to sign up for both weeks for extra fun!
This camp focuses on the opportunity for children to connect to their natural environment in a setting that is exciting, safe, and educational.
Each day we focus on different skills such as creating or following a basic map, identifying plants and animals, climbing trees and making mud, learning about the ecosystems at work around us, and more. All of these skills are taught through guided exploration, games, crafts, and projects, and our main goal is to make our students feel more at home in the outdoors while fostering a sense of adventure.
Each day's activities will be broken into three main focuses: Becoming an Explorer, Becoming a Naturalist, and Becoming a Conservationist. For example, some activities during the Explorer time might be investigating a creek for treasures; we might make plant prints and follow animal tracks around the creek during the Naturalist time; and possibly clean up any trash around the area or beautify a trail during the Conservationist time. And of course, all of these parts of the day will include exceptional amounts of excitement and adventurous spirit.
