Our mission is to provide meaningful, individualized, play-based early childhood education in a cooperative environment in a way that empowers advocacy and supports relationships between teachers, children and families.
Bright Beginnings Folsom is a non-profit preschool emphasizing learning through a wide variety of developmentally and age appropriate experiences. Bright Beginnings is a cooperative preschool designed to provide a learning experience for both parents and children. Under the guidance of trained, qualified teachers, parents have a unique opportunity to share in the education of their children at a level that is comfortable and feasible for each family.
Parents can work in the classroom and observe their children and other children in a supervised setting, while gaining a deeper understanding of their child’s growth and development. Parents are also given the opportunity to attend instructional lectures and seminars related to raising children and understanding developmentally appropriate activities and behaviors for preschool aged children.
About Bright Beginnings:
● Founded in 1974 by a group of families who wanted to provide nursery school for their preschoolers while being active participants in their child’s early education
● We provide toddler and preschool programs; not full-day childcare
● We observe a traditional school year with summers closed and breaks in the Fall, Winter, and Spring
● When you enroll at Bright Beginnings, you become a member of our non-profit, cooperative organization and can directly impact the program’s direction and success
● Families contribute to the operation of the school in a variety of ways which include: Working as a teacher-assistant in the classroom 2-4x per month, Serving on a committee (e.g. maintenance, fundraising) or on our Board of Directors, Contributing to and participating in fundraising events, Providing children’s snack
● While we share space with a church, we are not a faith-based program
