Description
Float the Feather River to discover the world of spring-run Chinook Salmon as they spawn and learn how to restore local populations.
Come have fun on the river, while learning how to conserve our threatened spring-run Central Valley Chinook Salmon! This rafting trip will float through the best remaining spawning habitat in the Feather River, while highlighting important ongoing and planned research, restoration, and monitoring projects.
A skilled raft guide will paddle for you, so you can relax and enjoy your tour! An expert scientist from DWR will describe current projects and answer any questions you may have. After the tour, a shuttle will return you to the Feather River Fish Hatchery where you parked.
Meet at the Feather River Fish Hatchery: Parking is available next to the boat launch, below the historic green bridge. Alternatively, you can park in the lower parking lot (by the Fish Barrier Dam and viewing windows) and then walk along the Fish Ladder to the meeting location below the historic green bridge. Note that restrooms are located near the lower parking lot. Please use the restroom, prior to checking in.
Please arrive 10 minutes early, if possible: Risk Acknowledgement Forms, life jacket fitting, and safety instructions will be provided BEFORE the tour launches. If you're late, you may miss your boat!
Note: Restrooms are located at the put-in and take-out locations (only).
TICKET(S) WILL BE REFUNDED IF YOUR TOUR IS CANCELLED FOR ANY REASON.
